Hello everyone from Shediac, NB, Canada!
Well it looks like my first season of metal detecting is over with it having snowed a bit overnight and the ground and water beginning to freeze. I'm not sure what I will do with myself now on weekends. I have become quite addicted.
My Garrett AT Pro got a workout this season with questionable success with regards to finds but great success with regards to exercise and enjoyment.
I found about $200 in coins -- although not a single silver.
On the jewellery side, I found a nice silver and diamond bracelet, a man's gold wedding band, women's silver ring and a man's stainless steel wedding band with a tiny diamond.
I also found a lot of junk jewellery. Some of the best finds were the dozen or so small cars and trucks that my 2 year old grandson has thoroughly enjoyed.
From reading all the various MD forums, I was expecting a few more gold rings and at least a few silver coins; especially considering the numbers of hours I spent on the beach.
It was only the last couple months that I invested in a good pair of chest waders and a quality scoop (Stealth 720i) to hit the shallow water. That was where I found the two wedding bands.
Looking forward to many more seasons of detecting.
