Hello, My son and I have been bitten by the gold bug for quite a while now and I found this forum seeking more information on detectors and prospecting supply's. I am from the Seattle area and plan to prospect in and around the Liberty, Wa. area as the thaw hits and weather brings in a little warmer temps.

detector 8.webp Welcome from N. Mississippi.

Do not forget about the ocean beaches on the Peninsula or anywhere there is Black Sands. Find the black sands and you might find some fine spot gold(flour gold). If you want to dig on the beaches legally you need to get a permit(which is free) check Fish and Game. If you ever head further east on I-90 go to Eagle City Park. It is a prospecting park cost to enter lots of fun and family friendly for the weekends Eagle City Park Also, try north towards Monte Cristo lost of creek to check out once the roads opens. I am in North Idaho now move from Seattle and the ground it still frozen with snow. Getting all the gear ready! Going Crazy waiting. Good Luck!

Welcome aboard! Take a look at Sub-Forums: Washington for information (i.e., clubs, etc.) directly related to your state.

Welcome from White Plains, New York!

Bethel,

Welcome to the site..:hello:

Be sure to check out the Gold Prospecting Forums, as
there's a decent number of us from the westside of the
state.

There is decent gold to be found within an hour of two
of Seattle (proper), and in both public areas and also
at claims owned by local prospecting clubs. A local club is
a great way to get a good start, as most of the members
are very helpful and willing to help you learn.

You can also learn a great deal just by following the forum
chat, and not being afraid to ask questions.

I believe Bedrock Prospectors Club has claims over by
Liberty, so you might check them out. I'm not a member
of the club as I have my own areas here close to home.

Happy digging!

Thanks for the advise dizzy digger and blue front side. I have a question about the gold and fish laws here in Washington, The way I read that pamphlet we only have one month or so out of the entire year to prospect in and near the water, What's up with that?
