I've had been metal detecting for about 15 years when I severed all the ligaments in my knee (unrelated to the hobby) and a year later had a heart attack. I used to scuba dive as well and my go to detectors were either a Minelab Excalibur II or Garrett AT Pro. Now that I am trying to be more active and get my health back on track I'm just starting to pick up the hobby again with my 12 yo daughter who has an interest as well. I sold the AT Pro a while back and am now considering trading in my Excalibur and getting a Minelab Equinox 900 for me and a Minelab X-TERRA Expedition for her (or anyone else who wants to go out with me).
I love technology, have a career as a principal software engineer and love working on and building small electronics, ham radio, writing code and automation.
Pretty sure I had an account on here a ways back in the past but wasn't able to find it so here we are again 😏
Glad to be here!
