Hello all

I started detecting this summer, although I've been keen on the hobby for a while. I feel that I'm relatively young for a detectorist (23) and I've always felt that my age is a disadvantage when it comes to asking for permission to detect. No one wants some young punk kid on their property I suppose.

My current machine is a Tesoro Compadre. I performs well, though I sometimes think too well. It's quite sensitive and I'm looking to upgrade to a mid-ranged machine. I hope that it will help me sort out the good stuff from the hauls of trash that I've been getting. I did find one pretty little silver quarter. That was a rush I want to feel more often.

Welcome to Treasure Net!!!

Now why would you describe yourself as a "punk kid"? :dontknow:

I wouldn't and I try to look decent while I detect. I usually wear a t-shirt I got after volunteering for a local charity.

I've always felt that the average person looks upon younger folk with more skepticism than they do with middle aged people.

See there, it pays to have old people for friends LOL
