Hello from Oklahoma
I live in NE Oklahoma and as by my name you can see that I trail ride. In fact I do a lot of trail riding. Each year I take my horses to the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and spend a week riding.
I do a lot of riding her in Oklahoma and I ride in some of the areas where it used to be the Texas Road and the Shawnee Trail. So there are a few areas to search for Civil War Relics but mostly I hunt areas of old communities that was moved out by the government when they built a lake. Lot of old homes, schools and general stores. All of which was late 1800 early 1900.
I use a Teknetics T2 SE and really enjoy my time in the field.
Wish all of you a great day and happy hunting.

Welcome from Enid!

Welcome to the site... I am in Claremore and hunt the Miami area alot, as my parents are up that way.

Welcome from the southeast part of our state. Happy huntin':icon_thumright:

Welcome to Treasurenet. you are in a great area for our hobby, I used to live in Sand Springs, Ok. a lot of rich history throughout the state, and with the neighboring states also having a rich historic past, there are lots of neat treasure hunts to pursue! H.H.

Well welcome from here in the Rocky Mountains. And now a stupid question. Since you ride, does the altitude have an effect on horses from the Southern Plains? I come up here from western Oklahoma, and believe me at 9,000ft. it kicked my tail. After 8 years I'm more used to it. That Texas Road would be a good one to hunt. My grandpa used to ride that on various unknown missions.

Welcome, I used to do a lot of riding in my younger days.

Hello from New Hampshire! :hello:

HH,

sorry have not been back on here in a while. to many irons in the fire and the fire keeps going out.

And no it is not a dumb question. I go just South of Platoro and park my truck at 10,080 feet and over the following two weeks I will go over a few ranges that will be over 13,000 feet and it take a toll on horses and me. So I swap out one horse is rode the other is packed the next day they change jobs. Makes it easier on them, and the big thing is don't get in a hury and enjoy the area.

And thanks to all.
