I'm new to prospecting, ive always collected coins and love gold, platinum and Silver US coins, but had never really thought about prospecting until about a year ago. My father owns his own Logging outfit and there was a place we was working up near Stone Mtn State park where the landowner told us there was gold on the property. He let me collect rocks, I done some research before collecting and only collected rocks that were extremely heavy, had brown stains or had exposed garnets. I've crushed some of them but hadn't tried panning the dust until recently. I think I about have it figured out, im going to post in one of the forums asking a question I have, that's the reason I found this website. Thanks, Good luck treasure hunting and prospecting.
