Hi all, my name is Dave and I'm new to the site from montgomery county Maryland. My dad and his friend have been relic huntin buddies since before I was born. I walked miles of fields with them digging plugs and enjoying the thrill of holding history. As I got older I got into other hobbies and sports and detecting was put on the back burner. About 3 years ago I saw an ad on craigslist, someone looking to trade a bounty hunter QuickDraw II for a guitar amp. I offered the guy an amp that was $99 brand new and accepted the trade.
I knew I could use it at a friends farm that has a civil war camp on it, but the property has been detected hard in the past. My dad, our friend and I joined forces again and started detecting. We found some lead at the camp but we weren't finding the goodies we had hoped for. Then last year I dug my first perfect bullet, a .52 cal sharps and I was hooked again! The very next weekend I dug a 3 ringer at a different property, and the following weekend a 1828 large cent at another property. I knew that I was probably missing some targets with the bh, so I soon upgraded to the at pro. I put together a nice collection of artifacts last year and I'm really looking forward to what I'll find next. I have been watching this site for a while now and I love seeing all of your finds. After an amazing coin and button day yesterday, I decided today would be the day to join treasurenet! I'm looking forward to fall and some cooler weather, hopefully I'll be able to put up some great finds, maybe even something banner worthy. Best of luck to everyone out there!

You might consider browsing Sub-Forums: Maryland for information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state.

Welcome aboard Dave and happy hunting!

Welcome from Louisiana..............

Thanks everyone, I'm still getting used to using the site but I'm hoping to get some pics up soon of my finds from last weekend. Can't wait to get back out this weekend... Why does the work week have to be so long?
