All Treasure Hunting
Hi guys and gals,

I'm totally new to treasure hunting but have always thought this is something that I wanted to try and possible undertake as a hobby. I no nothing about equipment but have been doing some general web searching regarding my first detector. So far I am leaning towards the Silver UMax. Is there anyone local to me that would carry this detector so that I can support them and not some corporate chain? What do you guys think about the silver umax as my first machine?

I love WW2 history and would love to 1 day go over and do some general hunting. I think that would be amazing!

Thanks guys,

Justin

Hello from up the road in Orefield. I just started not too long ago and love it. Hopefully someone local will have that machine for ya.

You think that would be a good machine to start with? Ive already found a place in Quakertown that sells them.

I have heard and read great things about it. I would have liked to get my hands on a couple machines before I got one but I can't complain as this was a gift. I have had my machine for a little over a month and want to upgrade already. Haha. I guess it all depends what features you want in a detector and how much you wanna spend.

Umax... good choice as in it's simplicity so you won't get frustrated and bend it around a tree, yet functional as you WILl find some good stuff with it. The big players like Minelab, White's, Garrett, Fisher, Bounty Hunter, etc put out some great entry level detectors and the TEsoro you named is a good one.

Good luck from Indiana, PA, USA, Earth
