i Mac, here the city parks are free game but you need a permit, its free. BLM lets you look for meteorites. State Parks here are off limits, that varys from state to state. You will have to do a little research or hope someone from your area pipes in. I know Chicago Ron is from your state. Maybe he can help.
 

Thanks, yeah I was thinking about contacting Chicago Ron. I've seen him on YouTube before and I think he has a store around the north side.
 

go stealth, work the edge of the parks without actually crossing the boundry line. Railroad tracks are great places to hunt as well.
 

There is a lot of places you can hunt, dont worry about the no fun signs. Railroad tracks can be dangerous as by the time you hear the train you are too late. Just give the tracks a wide bearth if you work them. The best advice is to go where people go, pic nic areas, events, parking lots scans, i love tot lots.
 

Thanks these are all great ideas. Never thought about the tracks, there are some right behind my condo which boarders a forest preserve.

Stay off the rr tracks. They are private property and like other private property you should stay off unless you are given permission and they wont give that permission.
