Hello Friends,

I started detecting this year around March with a Whies Coinmaster (fun machine) then learned about water hunting and PI detectors. Purchased a Tesoro Sand Shark (price point was perfect) and have been digging everything under the coil since. I mainly hunt the beach as I love the backdrop and have met some fellow detectors that have displayed and shared some great technique and much appreciated advice. Gold Fever has stricken me after a weekend outing with a few prospecting friends up near Big Bear. That shall be a new venture that I can't wait to explore. Hope to meet some great new friends here, learn, and contribute. Thanks for the read, looking forward to the many great experiences ahead.

Best,

Hello and welcome to the forum Max!

Welcome to the forum Cladiator. Big Bear is a great area for metal detecting. Locate the ghosttown of Belleville. It's about 7 or 8 miles north of Big Bear and was a gold mining town. At one time it had a population of about 1,500 so you might stand a chance of finding either raw gold or gold coinage.

welcome, sounds like you have the addiction
