Hello, 2 months now on this site. It is great the good people here.
I am glad to share info and learn from others with some jokes here & There.
My town est. 1855 French Miners found gold and was the 2nd gold rush bringing in people from Europe & China. Many local Indians tried to fight off expansion of their hunting grounds to no avail.
We still have the original Hotel now called "The French Gulch Hotel" which has a bar that was shipped and made it's way "Around the Horn!". French Gulch "Main St." were the hotel & I live on used to be the pony express & Stagecoach route entering California from Oregon! (The Oregon Trail.) We have still clear creek and still alot of seasonal deer hunting. (Many deer still walk thru town every night).
I have beenmetal detecting for 2 years but with a good detector for 6 months. No nuggets yet but old coins and artifacts like a brass sword "Letter opener" stamped imbossed fancy hinges and alot of 100+ year old "Square" nails. The rental house we live in is over 150+ years old, my land lord's family had built the house in the 1800's with clear creek in the back but the nearby bar has the water & mineral rights.(bummer).
I retire next year so I have some fun/work to do. Hope soon, "Happy Days" with the hunt for gold or stash.
