Hello from Emerald Isle, NC from an Ohio resident!

Hello!,

I am looking for a metal detector for $500 or less that I can use in freshwater, beach and wooded areas. I'm looking for suggestions. I spoke with a nice gentleman today on Emerald Isle beach as he was using a Tesoro Tigershark in the ocean and he gave me some ideas of what he felt I should purchase. I welcome all of your experience too! Thank you to all that reply.

Well, I went back to Ohio for a few weeks but have returned back to the Emerald Isle area (Swansboro). I have walked the beach with my White Coinmaster 1000 and only was able to collect bottle caps & tent stakes.

This morning I purchased the Tesoro Sand Shark. It should arrive hopefully this Friday. Wish me luck!!!

I've hunted Emerald Isle, Salter Path and the other spots along that barrier island. Be sure to do a go-round on the go-carts up the street.... if they're still there! TTC

golden oaks, try where the bogue inlet fishing pier is located, check both sides of the pier where people lay out in the sun, go swimming and hang out...... go right after a big storm, foe that is when the sand gets shifted......
