I am getting started into treasure hunting need a couple pointers...

I am looking for a good metal detector under $2000... any recommendations?

Also I have a lot of time on my hands and a lot of money and would like some pointers as to where to get started on metal detecting? Where do I look?? I want to find some treasure!!!!

Are you looking for gold nuggets? Coins, relics? I would look into the Minelab X-Terra 705, which is capable of using several different coils for different types of treasure hunting. If you are hunting gold nuggets, look into joining a local club with claims. Best of luck!

Welcome, there is tons of info to google. Read and read some more. It will all come to you.

Hello and welcome to the forum!

Where in AZ are you? There are a few of us in the Verde Valley area.

Archaic, a lot depends on what type of targets you are looking to find. In AZ, there are gold nuggets, relics , coins and jewelry. In your price range, you can afford some higher end detectors depending on the targets. Garrett ATX, White's V3I, Minelab E-Trac, Fisher F75 LTD SE. Call me if you wish to discuss various types of detectors.
