I'm totally new to the metal detecting world. For several years I've been considering it, but never pulled the trigger on a unit. With a really screwed-up right shoulder, and arthritis compounding the pain, I hadn't decided to begin... until I began researching and found the XP Deus. I have the unit, along with a Garrett Pro Pointer and Lesche hand digger on the way from Bart for my starting package, and can hardly wait to finally get started. From the areas I go to regularly I foresee over 60% of my time being coin related, the remainder being relic and cache.
I'm a graduate of the University of Miami and am retired, having spent 20 years in the military as a meteorologist... 15 of which was in Europe. This was followed by 15 years as a trucking operations manager, and finally 7 years in Emergency Medical Services. I live on the New York/Vermont border and spend quite a few weeks in northern coastal Maine every year. These areas should offer some good hunting. My hobbies and activities until now have been geocaching, backpacking, and flying (private pilot).
