I have had a lifelong love of history; though my passion until recently has been almost solely dedicated to the work and finds of others. Memoirs, textbooks, documentaries, and Hollywood have fueled and fulfilled my interest, until I moved to Fredericksburg, VA. I live near a known Union army camp (as it was confirmed through the local historical society and ammeter archaeologists through digs) and haven't taken full advantage of this blessing until recently. My wife bought me a beginners metal detector for my birthday and I am hooked. I have found both Federal and Confederate munitions within the recent months, as well as horseshoes, railroad spikes, old farming equipment, and LOTS and LOTS of nails and barbed wire. There is also a plethora of items I cannot identify that I would love to share with fellow hunters. I have many outdoor hobbies, but this one is by far the most exhilarating and rewarding. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this forum and I look forward to learning more about the art, and offering my services and opinions in return. Happy Hunting!
