Hi jenny nice to meet you,I'd try hitting a few parks or school yards the older the better.
house demo sites are good, vacant lots ect.you get the idea. :)

Anyplace where a house, school, church, etc. once stood. Talk to the old timers in your area, they should be able to tell you where things were in the past.
Welcome to the forum.

I agree with randall... there are ots of places close by you may not have thought of...

Start in your own yard... get a feel for the machine and what it can do, and dig everything. :)

Then get out to schoolyards and maybe churchyards with permission, and see what else is out there.

Local parks or larger state parks offer more variety and greater chance of older stuff... maybe a lake beach/picnic area?

Look for local areas that are no longer used... like the old swimming hole the ancient guy down the street talks about.

Ther truth is, once you get started you'll see lots of places to stop and swing the detector!

Welcome JennyRose and good luck!

It depends on what you are looking for.

I always enjoy the Penny garden on most older houses. Find an old house that used a clothes line. Follow and detect where the line once was and you will find pennies and sometimes even more. ;D

What detecter you own and what do you want to find?

Depending on your area of the country, old schools churches ect...can be fairly easy to find by going to a historical society and checking out old maps and then cross reference those locations on new maps...
Welcome to treasure net and good luck detecting!!!!

Gee, that took too long. Was wondering when one of you guys was going to hit on her. ROFL

Jenny - You ain't right. LMAO

You meant to pick on me....not Jenny. ROFL

Don't insult the poor girl, she just got here.

Welcome. Try your yard first if you live in an older house.

May want to put your pic on Mug Shots too....unless you already have.

Welcome to T-Net. I suggest public areas like schools and parks to learn your machine and how to recover a target without making too big of a mess. Once you get that, off to private property. Thats where the good finds are still in the ground. I will say this, You have a great advantage! If you were at my door asking to dig in my yard, I would go get you my shovel ;D

Once again, Welcome!

Welcome!! First I would call the local police non emergency number and find out if you can detect the local parks.. Then call the school district office and ask... As far as private property goes, it never hurts to ask!! Sometimes you never know what treasure waits in your own backyard!!!
