hi guys...i just bought an Ace 250 MD and awaiting its arivial, i was browsing the net when i come upon this very active forum and figured if i needed some help you guys would help. i looked over the forum last night and it seems like a friendly forum and i like the idea of metal detecting.

i guess i can start by saying my name is Justin and im 17 years old, i live in the southernest part of alabama...i live 10 mins from the florida like so its pretty far south

coolest thing is i live 2 blocks away from the high school, which there are a football field and 2 baseball fields there...not to mention i also live about 1/4 mile from the elem. school.(playground galore )

anyway i cant wait to start...first my backyard :P

Welcome! Good machine and a great source for help. You're off to a good start.

Dig it all until you can guess what it is before uncovering it. And it's usually a surprise even then.

Be patient. You need to learn how to detect just like anything else worthwhile.

Bury some coins of different types and practice in your yard.

Swing the coil while lifting it slowly and you'll get so you can estimate depth, too.

Swing it in an "X" over a hit and you can get so you don't need to switch to pinpoint mode.

haha, you guys are cool..and im sure im not the only one who regrets this but i should have paid for 3 day shipping

but its ok it should be here with-in the coming up week..i did get to use my friends step-dads metal detector and i HAD to get one...his is a bounty hunter somthin, its better then mine but im sure i did get the right model for me.

and to chefman, thats cool becuz i live in escambia ill PM you about this :P
