Water-worn asbestos siding would be my guess.
asbestos is hazardous

Would agree siding,have removed before not knowing it contained asbestos though.

Oh my! those are asbestos shingles? We had those as siding on the house I grew up in and when it was replaced later, there was a whole pile of them out back and me and my friends would throw them at eachother , pretending they were Chinese stars.. yikes!

Thanks everyone. I do believe it is an asbestos shingle. I never would of thought of that. It's in the trash can.

asbestos is a bit misunderstood.....yes airborne fibers are dangerous over time and in concentration....but holding that in your hand is as dangerous as a piece of lead of similar size...which you also wouldn't lick.
