Hi all out there. I work for the Samaritans and we've had an item bought into our Charity Shop which we were all perplexed about! (see attached images).

Just wondered if any of you knowledgeable persons out there might be able to provide us with a price at which to sell them at? We obviously want to get the most money we can for the charity.

They are Silver Knife rests made by Robert Pringle & Sons, not in that good condition but still...

I'm sorry that I don't know more about them but if anyone could give some indication as to what we should sell them at, then much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Dave

Solid silver or silver tipped and crystal in the middle? Hard to tell from the photos?

Robert Pringle and Sons were silversmiths that started in Birmingham, England in 1882, then London in 1907. The hallmarks tell exactly where. The silver on the ends are no doubt sterling. Again, there may be the .925(or higher) somewhere on them. The company ended in about 1966. These are highly collectible, the glass may be crystal and I wouldn't take less than $80-$100 for the pair. I suspect they are worth more than that. In a thrift store I'm not sure you can get that, so keep them or visit a reputable antique store for an offer.
