Yes, To fly is heavenly to hover is divine.

Yes, carrying crews and surveying equipment many times. Very efficient method, but dangerous experiences at times.

Helicopters are used all the time in California to fight fire and move equipment. Heavy lift helicopters are used for logging / construction/ Back when it was legal to dredge. I watched a big dredge being lowered into the N. Fork of the yuba.
