Detector(s) used
Flippin Stick n good luck :)
at radio shack;) im not trying to advertise or anything, but would like to help out some fellow detectorists, if they are looking for a decent coin machine. RS has dropped the price on the discovery 3300 to 111.00 the exact same one kelly co offers for 400.00 on sale!!!!! , thier name is the titan 3000. radioshacks advertised price is 199.99 since they do not have the new tags up, if you call and say can you check a price tell the number 63-3018 and they will tell you 111.00. its a kick butt deal for a coinshooter, or a fathers day gift,or if you cannot afford a high end detector. like i said im just trying to help some of you out, i know my way around RS;)

p.s. it also has a numerical target display, similar to the MXT, im not sure how well it works on soil but air testing so far is pretty good except for small rings(2mm)

I just bought the 2200 the other day for Dianna, took it out and air tested it on the soil with 8 different targets.

A copper cent
A zinc cent
A quarter
A dime
A nickel
A large silver ring
A small silver ring
A gold ring

It was right on the target about 90 percent of the time. Not bad for a bottom end detector! Also, depth was pretty good. targets were on the ground and still got 'em at 8 inches, pretty consistant.

Construction isn't the best, kinda flimsy. No beating this one to death! But it sure is light, feels like sweeping air compared to my CZ and Goldmaster.

Does the 3300 have a pinpoint? Only thing I wish the 2200 had. I paid $74 bucks for it.

yes the 3300 has a pinpoint, but have yet tried it, i just got it home, hopefully tomorrow. it reminds me of a generic mxt. haha i love rs's ultimate clearence event;) also there is a junior BH that would be awesome for backpacking or tight places like mines and caves, nothing else, well small children. they are down to 25.00. ill pick one up this weekend.

Drove clear across town for one for my son..... don't bother. After taking one look I passed on it. Take a see for yourself... :)

i bought one for my 8yr old son, works good, a lot of machine for the price, Ive even had my wife out on it a couple times, and yes she smoked me. heading up north to hunt this weekend with my father and she asked if i would take her out. had one of these 2yrs ago and didn't give it a chance, use to the whites classics, was trying to run the sensitivity to high, there light sensitive, good depth and id well what more could you ask for, for 112 bucks. check in metal detector reviews for more info on that puppy..............

I too bought one.....it's pretty good.......compared to the ACE 250.......it might be better & it has ground balance.....but the ACE250 is built better.....cheap batteries, don't fit it right, but easy to fix.....read about this and the solution in the manual...

I like mine.......for a cheapy!!!!

yes they are kinda flimsy, as a matter of fact one of my older BH's are being held together by eletric tape;) but they are good park and what not detectors;) features kick butt on the 3300(for the price)

a lot of people have been saying good stuff about this machine. there must be some truth to it. i think its cool that it has an adjustable ground balance, something the 250 does not.

I just checked the RS website. They have it listed at $299.00.I will call in the morning the nearest store with it in stock and ask for a price with the catalog number only.Hopefully it will work for the 111.00 price. If it does I will get one.Wish me luck.

it will...... here's a little secret...... i work for em 8)
make sure its a corporate store tho

i know, im missed the sale, i was unaware of the price chance, have been watching for a long time too, like i said, they are not advertising it

Just Got mine today for $111. gonna try er out a bit later when it's cooler, too hot right now. I'll let you know if I find anything worthwhile but being a newbie it could be a bit before I make some good finds.

Once again, Thanks for the heads up on how to get the $111 price tag! I got one for my dad then went back & got one for the ol' lady. If she doesnt like it better than the Ace250 or her Prizm3 I'll keep it as a spare! Salesman said he had one more in back, if she likes it after the weekend I may go get a 3rd one! He also said if I walked in & asked for the detector rather than running the item number through the computer the price would have been $199.00. Again..........Thanks Chong! ;D

jeffro, just curious...... you said you had recently purchased a 2200 for the wife, and you are satisfied with it. it is the EXACT same style as the 3300. only difference is that the 3300 has a ground balance and a pinpoint two features that i think are a must have..... maybe the one you were looking at was a beat up floor model. well the best of luck:)

your welcome AP i hope they work out for u all, and better yet i hope mine works out for me even more;) ill be taking it out monday to give it a test
see u all later

Ah well, chong.... miscommunication there... I thought you were refering to the "Radio Shack special" when you mentioned the 25 dollar detector..... thats the one I looked at, and I probably wouldn't have given 5 bucks for it.

Where I'm at, the BH1100 is 40 bucks, the 2200 is 74, and the 3300 is 111. I wanna get my son the 1100, for sure. I'll have to have the stock modified at work, to make it shorter for my son, but he'll enjoy it!

my apologize jeffro, yes i miss under stood you, i read where i stated about the small one for back packing. i know looks are decieving but the little guy actually peforms good. but of course thats with air tests and really dont tell much. all i know when we are exploring mines and caves that i think it would be perfect for finding that miners little stash in the nooks and crannys. i personally have lugged a full size mxt through old mines and it is horrible, you have to be carefull not to damage your machine. it sucks going through tight places with something so big. you usually need both hands to manuver. and not to mention cleaning out the mine dust when you are through which is very very fine. or imagine you go for a very long hike in the desert or steep mountains, and see somewhere where people may have inhabited or a spring, usually you wont lug a fullsize around. a small detector would apply to a few small number of people who do explore tight places, even attics. next time you go by a RS ask the employee to put in some batteries and try it out your self. for me it would be perfect for what i would use it for.
like i said jeffro apologies again, total miss understanding

Took the 3300 out tonight for a little test run & although i much prefer my $700 QuantumXTpro I am very impressed with this $112 machine! I also have an Ace250 & a Prizm3 & I think this thing blows both of em outa the water! Dug a few coins at about 6-7 inches, pinpointing seemed dead on & I like the idea of manual ground balancing on a $112 machine! (250 & Prizm are factoty set) If my QXT goes down Im using the 3300! Awesome detector for the price! Im kinda curious what every body else who got in on this fantastic deal think of their machines? :)
