Hi all,

I found this in a woods with colonial history leading up to the present. There are remnants of wood in the cavity in the inside, so it seems like some sort of handle. It’s brass or copper alloy and fairly hefty. Dime for scale. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

IUp north, we just call these hame knobs.

Nice find and they do make for great cane tops, I know because I've repurposed a few of them over the years. :laughing7:
I hope to one day 🤘
Be many many years before my current set is cane topper ready😁

Great find. First time I rode a horse was holding on to those knobs on a plow horse working a tobacco field. Also can be found spelled hanes,
