Heavy Sterling Ring

I found this ring about 3-4 inches deep on an old path. It looks like a sterling ring marked 975 on the back, with an oval shaped face.. believe it's black onyx or black glass with a ?gold leaf inlaid warrior
Any other thoughts on when this ring was made and for what? Thanks.

Although I did not find your exact ring I can tell you it is a greek warrior probably intaglio inlaid..

that's a cool ring. looks old, and my guess is probably 1940's as that motif was popular then
