heavy shiny silver rock? has some gold in it, also it weights 5 lbs .... Any ideas?? found in Alabama

I was thinking a meteorite as well. Would be a gem to find one with gold on it. Damn

Just for arguments sake, if that is a meteorite, isn't it worth a fortune? Don't want to get anyone's hopes up prematurely but I remember watching a show about how much these go for when sold.

If a meteorite, probably part of a satellite or rocket. Ownership would belong to whoever owned it while in the sky, I'm afraid. Similarly they would be responsible for any damages caused by the impact.
