Heavy Lead disc - need ideas

Hoping someone has seen something like this. Object was found on top of the ground near a stream in the woods in middle TN. Sorry bout the picture focus. After the battery charges, I'll try some more.
Is 2 and 3/4 in. wide, 3/4 in. thick, weighs 1lb. 15 oz. (~900g) Appears to have been stamped on top. Bottom is smooth and has a slight dimple in middle. Of course it may be a weight for measuring, but would like to know for sure.
