Heavy handle of some sorts?

Found what appears to be a handle today. It's pretty heavy and solid but not exactly sure what it may be from or made out of. Found it in the grassy area of a local beach near concession stand.

Could be antler or bone. Fron the size of the coins maybe the handle to a hors d'oeuvres fork . . . or a thousand other things.

Old silver plate butter knife would be my guess......

My first thought is some type of silverware handle. Since it was near the concession stand I guess it may make sense. It was a couple inches down along a sidewalk/grass area. Couldn't see any markings on it.
