it's not a bullet, what it kind of reminds me of is when I was a kid, we had these metal dart looking things that you could put a paper cap in and when you tossed them they'd set the cap off when they hit the ground.....sort of like this one only all metal.

That's pretty interesting. Ya'll must've been using some powerful caps back then! Ha Ha! Just look at that one! Were they prone to falling off or were they loaded in smooth bore shotguns(pumpkin balls)! LoL

Oh my Lord, the battles we faught. I had one that actually looked like a hand grenade. The grenade part itself was light plastic but the head was iron so it would fall head first and "BANG" the cap when it hit. It was confiscated because it would also put a knot in a kid's head when that two-pound grenade head met a kid's head.

My favorite was a booby-trap grenade on a spring. When the trip wire was tugged it fired a cap and launched the grenade. One night my father was headed for the john along a route my brother occasionally took and tripped the string (original one was many times broken and re-tied in places so I'd replaced it with a stronger cord). When it all went off the launcher came sliding out and caught up around his ankle, tripping him, shooting the grenade up in his face and waking the whole house up in a barrage of Daddy Speak that peeled paint. Later something else got peeled and the booby-trap went away. Monkey Patrol or Monkey Squad or something like that. I had a whole arsenal of that stuff.

We laid traps and bombs for each other that Al Queida would be impressed with.
