I found this coin on the floor near a coinstar. It's dime sized and reeded. With a little pareidolia, one side appears to show a heraldic eagle. The other side was totally inscrutable until I took a rubbing. Then out came this big numeral 5. What I see as an eagle flips in coin orientation with the 5. Any ideas?

Yes, German 5 Pfennig Kaiserreich, late Version 1915 - 1922. Its an early cupronickel or pure nickel coin, not silver.

Coll find, wouldnt have guessed those found their way to Arizona.

Cool WWI era German coin, you don't find too many of these over here! It is made out of iron to conserved copper and nickel for the war effort, hence the rough condition it is in. If you put it near a magnet it will probably stick to it.
