This is probably the best (or worst?) heartbreaker I’ve ever found. Found about 25 yrs ago on a gravel bar on the river. It’s the handle end of a hardstone spud. Fine grained and highly polished. I’ve always wondered that happened to the rest of it. Below is a picture of one that is whole. It’s Mississippian in age and there was a large Mississippian site nearby.
