This weekend was our first road trip for 2006 and we headed south. Yesterday was cold cloudy and windy. Bobbie found her first gold of the year with a 14k double heart ring with samll ruby at our second spot, then followed that with the sterling silver heart ring also from the second spot. We hit another 2 spots before before the last of daylight disappeared. I found the 10k gold pendent of little girl holding a teddy bear at our first spot.
Today the sun came out and while cool , was very nice out. We spent some time riding checking out some new spots for future hunts. Finds were sparse, but we still made some good finds At the first site we stopped, Bobbie found the sterling box link bracelet. Second spot didnt produce much but a few coins. 3rd spot produced even fewer coins but my first signal was the 14k earring. After lunch we hit one more spot before heading home, I pulled the heart and x's 10k ring from there.
So for the weekend we ended up with 4 gold, 2 silver and $23.00 in clad. It was a great weekend, and we developed some new spots for our next trip that way. The last pic is of Bobbies coins and other stuff
congrats to all that got out

Looks like a good trip, You found some nice keepers!

Well Dave....you and Bobbie traveled south and didn't pay me a visit! :D

Great finds as always! ;) Good luck on your next trip!

;D Well no suprise here, that you two did so great! ;D :D ;D But I think its cool how you pulled all the hearts just around the corner form Valentines day!? BTW, I think some of the windy rainy days make for good memories...its the slipping in to a coffee shop for a cup of something warm and a cuddle that makes the memories! I hope you got some of that in today as well as MDing and treasure! ;) ;D

Oh, I won a bid for a scale this weekend on ebay! So it should be in this week! Can't wait to play with it and my trinkets! Here is what I bid on.

Hope that shows up for you!

BTW I like the ring in the last pic and the necklace too!!!

Nice trip and congrats on the gold and silver! HH, Mike

I have to ask....do you two ever have a SLOW day detecting where you don't find much? Geez. It seems like you always find a lot of good stuff and even when it's only OK, you find a TON in clad.....I don't know if maybe I'm a poor metal detector, or have a crappy MD (I don't think so, it's a White's MXT) but you two are unbelieveable.
Congrats on another good day of finds!

Thanks all, it looks like this year is starting off where last year ended. Thanks for the tip on the scale gigidiamonds, we picked one up today from the same guy. It should suit our purpose well
Yes skane we do have bad weekends, but we always try to find something interesting, whenever we go out. I think that Bobbie has been the big factor to our success as we can spend quality time together, while both of us enjoying the hobby we are so passionate about. We work off of eachother spurring the other one on.
We keep very meticulous records, and can track our detecting sites, based not just on last year but for the last 5 years. It would have been 6 years , but I lost my 2000 detecting log when the floppy disk it was on went out. In doing so we can see when certain places are more productive than others during certain times of the year and concentrate on those spots.
Again thanks all and best of luck this year to all of you

Great finds dave n bobbie!!! When are you two great hunters gonna start working on some real treasure?
With a team like yours you really should be researching something big, we know you have the talent!!!
I just think the 2 of you have what it takes to find something really big. Not that any of your finds aren't big, dont get the wrong idea lol.
