Looks like a heel plate. Not sure they have changed much year after year, so, hard to determine age.

No, no, no. It's for a very small, Asian variety of horse. Uncommon here in America. Nice find! Love finding personal relics!

hi guys,
how wide is it at the center area across? if its more then 4 inches it might be a shoe fore mules,or oxen.
just a thought mind you/lol

Hmmm it's hard to say. I've seen iron heel plates. The rear holes on yours are more forward than the ones on the heel plate from the link you posted. I hope it is the real thing though.

Most people call them cleats.. Made for both heel and toes to prevent shoes and boots from wearing out..
