Im looking to purchase some grey ghost headphones because ive heard they are top quality but which ones are the best for land detecting. But theres so many to choose from witch type is the best to get ?? any advice is appreciated. thanks

thats great,thank you terry

I use the Detector Pro Gray Ghost. They are comfortable and stand-up to much abuse in the field!

Ive read alot of forums and reviews about the GG headphones some said they are great and some say they arent that good, the build quality is great but the tones are abit low. I think its all down to what detector you use them with, I use the nokta fors core can anyone recomend a really good pair of headphones that works well with this type of detector. my budget is about £150 ish

Thanks again Terry Ive had a look on there site but i carnt see the killer B Optima?

Paul if you select the "headphones" button on the left side you'll go to the page which shows all of their versions. The Optima line is the series, not a particular model. They have a second button on the homepage labeled "Optima" which outlines the series features and includes a few photos (albeit pretty crappy ones).

I have a set of Original Gray Ghosts. I was initially looking for a dual volume knob model but found a really great deal on a set of single knob originals. I have some hearing loss in one ear and was worried it would be harder to use them with just one main volume control. I can tell you it hasn't been an issue at all! They are very clear, comfortable and pretty light weight for their size. There are lower profile headsets out there as well as even bigger ones, but overall I'm extremely pleased with my GG originals!

Thanks Palmetto pony. whats the sound quality like on the GG ive read on a forum that they sound abit low toned?

IMHO it's a pretty clear tone(s). I run my T2 with 2+ tones and they come across nice and clear. The GG's are pretty good at blocking most external noise, though I don't normally detect in any high noise areas. I have the volume cranked about 2/3's of the knob sweep and they don't blast my ears. Some maybe be more sensitive to the volume level (as I stated above, I do have some hearing loss I have to deal with).

Sorry to read that availability (or lack of) the Killer B's, has kind of decided for you. I think you'll be pleased with them though. GL & HH

I have used GG's, and have no complaints. Be sure to let who ever you're ordering them from, what kind of machines you will be using them with. Some machines like the AT PRO require a special adapter.
Good luck
