HEADED TO CRYSTAL COVE STATE PARK (NEWPORT BEACH, CA) AREA IN A FEW WEEKS

BRINGING MY ACE 350 FOR MY FIRST BEACH HUNT AND NEED SOME ADVICE!

I HAVE READ EVERY BOOK I CAN GET MY HANDS ON, BUT I DON'T FEEL LIKE THAT IS GOING TO BE ENOUGH TO EVEN COME CLOSE...

ANY ADVICE YOU CAN GIVE ME WOULD BE GREAT! I HAVE EXPERIENCE HUNTING PARKS, VACANT LOTS, FARMS, FIELDS, ETC...BUT NOTHING IN THE SAND/BEACH.

I don't know how well they cleaned everything out there after they tore down the little places at the South end of the beach. Probably a lot of trash to dig there.

Any beaches near there worth taking a look at?

Huntington Beach. Gets hunted hard but I've never left empty handed....not always gold but some interesting stuff. Work the dry sand slowly along the towel line.

HB is way North of Crystal Cove. Go a little North and you have Big Corona and Little Corona (Corona del Mar is Southern Newport Beach). You could also head a little South to Laguna Main Beach in Laguna Beach.
