Headed out to hunt the "Hills" today and was detoured by a new spot
I had to fuel up the monster today so I took the long way around to hit my favorite gas station before I went to try out the "Hills". On my way through the neighborhoods I saw an old house that had been torn down that I hadn't noticed before. I stopped and asked the old feller next door doing some flowering if he thought it would be OK to hunt the lot. It had a few no tresspassing signs up so I was kinda sceptical but thought what the heck. The man said he'd let me hunt it for a few hours if I didn't bug him to come back, especially with other people. It was his sons property and they were going to use it for open storage and didn't want a bunch of people there digging through it. I'm surprised he even let me do it, he was an ornery old fart and very reserved.
Things turned out very well, I found some great items. I only hunted where I thought the back yard used to be since I only had a short time to spend there. I wish I could go back there at least one more time but I'll respect their wishes and be thankfull for what I did get. I didn't dare take my camera out while I was hunting for fear of the man but I did get a photo of the spot from my truck. I don't know why but he intimidated the crap out of me.
The Hogwarts ring is FRICKEN HUGE and was found about 10 feet from the street on my way back to the truck. It was basically right on top. I'm sure it's silver but it's not marked. The chain seems to be either brass or copper and is a center piece of chain, no clasp on either end. The 1911 Barber dime was found about 5" deep. The silver baby spoon was about 5" deep as well. It says 1847 Rogers Bros. IS on the back. I don't have any idea what IS means but I have seen Rogers Bros. silverware before. All the normal clad except for the nickle, one dime, one quarter and a few pennies were found at a park I didn't get to list last week.
Hope you enjoy the pictures.
