Yes I use them and I can definitely hear very faint sounds that I cant when not wearing them. But I'm just curious if I will hear even better with the really expensive headphones.

some different exist, from cheep to expensive huge, from expensive to very expensive not big, but its also depend what label metal detector you use, different metal detectors different sound quality.

Yup Ya Will :icon_thumleft:

part of the cost is the name, but I think a lot of it is the quality and features. some just fit right
and people are willing to spend more to get them.

If you are serious about detecting, yes there is a difference. Yea you will see someone that says that the cheep ones are just the same -- Nope! Why spend good money for a nice detector and defeat it's purpose on the other end.
Cheap's are for back up.
I have a set of Grey Ghost Black Widows and love them. I have 5 sets of headphones and I only use my GGBW.
They do fit tight on the head but you get use to them, however if they don't fit snug around the ears you will get a lot of ambient noise from your surroundings. I can use mine on the beach with the waves and wind and can hear the faint signals.
Yes i did crinched when i bought mine but now I am glad i have them.

When I put on my Black Widows it is like the 'ol Cones of Silence gag on Get Smart. You don't hear any outside/ambient noise. Sure helps pick out the faint signals. Ther are also more rugged and built to be used outdoors where things get dropped and snagged.

If you have a detector that just has an alarm tone when it detects metal you probably won't get much added benefit. The ones that produce a proportional signal to target strength will lbenefit greatly.
