Hi there,
I just recently purchesed a Garrett GTAx550. I have been using the same headphones I always used wth my old GTA1000. After using it a few times, I discovered that even when the head phones are plugged in, the sound still comes over the regular speaker, unless the jack in EXACTLY in the right possition. I have to push in slightly, or pull out slightly to make the regular speaker go quiet, and it won't stay in the perfect place.

This is quite annoying to people on a crouded beach etc. What can I do to fix this?

Thanks in advance,
Tim

send it to garrett they have the best customer service department that i have ever dealt with.nice group of people to deal with

It does sound like a bad headphone jack, but I would test it with another pair of headphones before I sent it off; you may have a headphone plug that has a wobbly tip, which can cause a problem.

Thanks! I will get another set of headphones to try. I am overdue for a set anyway. The cord on the old one is not to coiled anymore.

Tim
