We finally got some warm weather and enough snow melt to get busy. I spent most of my time walking along a feeder creek that runs through a cornfield. I got pretty excited when I walked up on those two artifacts right beside each other, A small chalcedony blade and the shell piece appears to be drilled and broken near the other hole, bummer, never found one whole. The little piece of quartz turned out to be a pretty sweet Lecroy. Decided to hit the field next, bunch of brokes and flakes, couple of thumbnail scrapers and a nice little Palmer or possibly Brewerton in a small ditch. Thanks for looking, good luck on your next hunt.

It was a great day to just be outside, 53 and no clouds, everything else was just a bonus. Appreciate the comments guys.

Great pictures. That Brewerton is sweet. Really like that edge work on it. That field should really be good once its plowed. I hunted N.Ala today :icon_sunny:. Its going to be a good season.

Thanks, unfortunately it's a no till field. It really takes alot of rain for it to produce. I wasn't the first one on it either, two different sets of tracks. If somebody plowed it I'm sure it would churn up a ton of artifacts. So how did N. Bama treat you? Did you hit some more paleo?

Haha Yep thats all I collect is paleo. I give the younger stuff away. LOL Not!! Nice looking river in your photo. I missed that point and picture for some reason. Its all the way round at the base? What is it?

Nice finds and pictures thirty7. I believe you are right on it being a Brewerton Conernotch Point. Nice little LeCroy and Lerma as well.

Congrats on the finds and thanks for the pictures.

Thanks for the comments fellas. Tn, I'm not real sure what the rounded base point is, could be Lerma like SRV said. There is some Guilford culture in this area, but this ones thin and more refined then most Guilford points I've picked up, it's archaic imo. You never know what may surface in this area, it was inhabited by many cultures.

Thanks.... Wonder if I'll ever heal up, and be able to hunt with you luna....tics running round. I love the guys that hunt em man. Good hunt. good pics, and thanks for getting me off the couch. Must be almost Spring I think we will see some great stuff this year, from our peeps on here . Congrats... John

I like that Lecroy. Thanks for sharing your hunt. I still got 6" of snow on the ground.
