Hi crew. Went for a fish. Not many options where I am and no big ones but its still fun.
Tried a new Bushranger spinner out and it was fantastic. Nearly a fish per cast. These get bigger elsewhere but this is typical size in our region. Redfin. Great eating but I left my keeper net at home so let them all go. I caught about 20.
A reddy in the water.
Spotted some birds way over the other side of the lake so put the rod in the car and got the camera. Stalked between trees and behind them edging closer, about a km away. About 300 meters away I snap a quick zoomed right in shot to see what they were, a big flock of spoonbills! Wrapt, sneak up so careful and about to get a camera rest on a branch and then "bark bark bark bark" they fly away, did a high up circuit dog and owner still there so they flew away across the range and gone. Idiot thought they would take their dog right up to them. Not only did the spoonbills leave but so did about 100 different ducks of various species.
Oh well. The quick shot I managed to get.
I think this is a sparrow hawk nest as there are two that hunt the pines there. Something ended up as supper.
The pine area.
Some eucalyptus flowers.
