Bizarre lightning storm associated with nearby tornado, going on like this for almost a solid hour before fizzling out.

Can't say that. I have.I've seen some pretty intensive heat lightning storms though in the heat of the Summer,fun to watch.

Seen em before too. He really had to have that zoomed in to make it look that close. On the flip side, I have been near to a tornado where the lightning was almost nonstop. Was about 10 PM and had my wife and daughter in the truck. Probably could have driven without headlights for what seemed like about 5 minutes.

Years ago I ran into a storm like that coming up I-95 in South Carolina at night. Like Chad said, we could have driven without head lights for a long while. A real light show. Odd part about the storm, there was little to no rain. Just a few big drops hitting the windshield. Spooky.

I seem to remember seeing long lightening like that before,
But I don't remember how long.

I think I saw it & thought cool & moved on.
I'm not that easily amused to time lightening for an hour.

Like the woman suggested it was like.

I may have seen Heat lightening do that
