HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF ANYONE FINDING A CANNON???

Has anyone ever heard of a cannon being found?? We dig shells, frags, fuzes, etc but I have never heard of a cannon being found. I would think that somebody must have lost at least one during the war.

Yes , surprised me when friends found one . I was like no way ...and they sent a few pics. It was legit. Small one only 4 feet long.

Found a few English and French cannons, but not in US waters.

Can’t confirm the story, but have heard it from several people (doesn’t make it more true). In the late 60’s early 70’s a guy back home supposedly found a cannon tied to Cornwallis on his march through NC. Only unfortunate part, he found it on state/federal land. Sold the cannon for 20k or so. Few years later he got a visit from some gentlemen wearing suits. Fine and some jail time as I understand.

I know there's some historic signs for Cornwallis and some other attack at Union/ Lancaster line

He marched north from sc through nc , going through Greensboro, and then on to Yorktown Va.
