Hello... Found Some items at an old Homestead and Farm that dates back to the late 1880..

The First thing i found was this large piece of Iron that was about 12-14 inches down..which was odd because this was the deepest target i ever dug for.. And dug it up.

Its very heavy and has the Number "46" stamped on the back..and the rocks that it was buried in have practically cemented itself to this item..I cleaned a little.but need something stronger

I also found this other piece of Iron ..that at first i thought was a Curtain Rod Holder..but the more i look it doesnt seem really practical for that..and again a heavy item for its size

Any help with these would be great..even if it is just junk

thanks

Just a off the wall guess here but looks like some kind of recessed gate latch and the other piece might be part of the handle. :icon_scratch:

It was just a quick thought and may not even be.You might wait around and see what other ideas come along. As far as the wire wheel see no problem on that piece if you want to clean it up some.
(Don't forget your safty glasses  )
Take Care,
