So I was swinging the AT Pro yesterday when I got a hit for a silver dollar at 6in. Well when I dug it, this is what I found...lol....At first look I thought it was a bell cover. I pulled it out the hole and it weighs about 5-8lbs. It's 5in. in diameter. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1460211704.557091.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1460211731.712644.jpg

Is it made out of lead? If yes, it looks like the remnants from the bottom of a lead melting pot

Yup, lead. The pieces on top are cut off sprues from casting something. My lead pot looks just like that after I have cast some large saltwater fishing sinkers and my sprues look pretty much like those. As I cast I throw the cut off sprues back into the pot to re-melt them and when I am done and turn off the heat the last ones will remain on top.

Yep, helps to get some of the dirt off. ...Not to mention actually looking at the larger view! :tongue3: Limited data allotment - I don't always click the images, even when I should.
