Can't find an exact match, but I'm pretty sure that is a primer for an artillery shell. I'll look into it a bit more and see if I can pin it down.

Was thinking 105mm, but i think it's to short! Is there any markings on the bottom, that might tell us what model the primer is?

Ok, I'm starting to think it's a primer from WW2 era 37mm.... Possibly for the M3A1 Anti Tank gun. Still looking but measurements would help. Also there should be writing around the outer edge of the base that will help in dating it if you can get it cleaned up and anything is left.

its 3 inches long and it has a 54 on it theres other writing but still trying to make it out. now i can make out some more i think mk 22

markings would make it a Mk22 Percussion primer, made in 1954. I still think it's for the 37mm round. The length is right for it.
