I have hard rock gold samples available, they have very fine flour gold. Some have spy gold in them very small but its there
Great educational tool for reconizing ores, you can use to learn how to recover fine gold, or just play around hand crushing and panning desert hard rock gold without having
to go out and find it. you will probably find more in my samples than you could most weekends out in the bush.
prospecting trip in a box, you dont even have leave your house, i only have a few boxs. when its gone its gone.

Good luck Herb.

Must've been quite a nice pocket, did you find some copper sulphides to? Looks like it.

I just put that in for color they have good pyrytes in them very good looking rocks.
I stay away from sulfides not near enough values.
Hematites are what we look for out here.
I got 14 small hem pockets last year biggist was 55 gal drum of ore.

very nice specimens got hungry had to crush.
Hematite cubes with foil like gold on the crystal faces, hours of fun under the micro scope.

Aha, I was wondering.
I'd be tempted to disagree, in terms of gold, maybe your right. :)

However there are other metals to, last year I found a mineralization with 13% copper and a galena deposit with some 12 ppm silver. Sadly, both were to small to be mine-able.

Here we look for boulders which show signs of mineralization.
The whole area is glaciated (ice age), got heaps of moraine here.
The boulders also give a hint at the geology.

So does the moraine, found some galena while sampling a spot with the pan. Must've been from a Rhyolitic belt close by.
Going to examine that area this year. When the snow is gone. :)

I dont go after the sulfides i am not set up for that type of recovery.
i do save all my sulfide tails off my table, and all vein material i mine.
I have about 14 ton stock pile of low grade and differant ores That i have dug.

I always bring home all small pockets i find.
All my geology was self taught so i am still trying to get it all figured out. frankly its gotten me completly grey and wacke.
have fun in the white north im jealous.

Ah, well I'm more of a prospector. So recovery doesn't matter to me that much.
I've taken a couple of basic geology courses and from there I am self taught. Just needed the basics to get started.

I'll be glad to fill in where I can - I'm just a PM away.

No need to be jealous, the large companies keep out of this area where I live.
I think it's to different from what they are used to, the real mine fields are further north.
They mostly do "brownfield" exploration here - searching near known finds.

Frankly quite good, less competition, few known mines around here. :)

Good luck Herb.

I spiced up my samples with some new material dont have a whole lot of it.
Herb.
