These were unearthed together from approx 3ft under the soil? Maybe just a fluke they look alike. Thoughts?

They have no indication that they were modified by man,no primary flaking, no secondary flaking, no pecking or grinding, etc,...

Is it possible they are just really old and not showing these characteristics?

Those are not the type (quality) of material that would be shaped percussively. Even poor quality chert would be more finely grained.
