Hello Forum,

I found this hatchet, and decided to restore it. As I was cleaning it up, I noticed what I think was a “62” on the handle. If this is the year of manufacture, it’s not that old but still a neat find. Anyway, I thought I’d share the restoration pictures. Thanks for looking!

Thanks Whyme. I can’t take all the credit. I worked on it for about an hour, then I let a guy that I met that does forging work finish it.

You should post this in the restoration and preservation section. Good place for other to learn and se what it looks like when you restore an item back to working order. My guess is Estwing as well. Looked like it may have been in a fire because those rubber handles never come off.
Nice job on pinning the handle.
