Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
I started Metal detecting last year in April , everything started of very simple , a used Tesoro Eldorado a used air of junk head phones an a pathetic excuse for a digger....fast forward to today ....I've been threw a few machines , I've acquired a few tools , I've gotten into water detecting an nugget shooting an hunting the beautiful gold .....

well it happened today the Red head told me I have gotten way to much stuff an now need a shed to put it all in ....she gave the neighbor $50 for one an I spent all day moving the shed over an putting everything into it .

Detectors, digging tools, shovels , rakes , dry washer , 3 sluices (different sizes) box of spare dry washer parts , scoops , buckets , tumbler (for cleaning clad ), scrap buckets , gold pans( of various size), classifiers of different sizes`.

What happened ??? when did I get all this stuff ??? does this mean I'm addicted to this hobby now ?? lol.

OK so now how many of you has this happened to ???????

it hasn't happened to me yet. but you have a few months on me. i only started in january. i am already thinking about getting another sandscoop and i haven't even been out that many times yet. weather has been crappy, real cold and lots of snow. i am looking forward to my 1st gold and 1st significant historic find. I suspect that it won't be long before I need a shed! :laughing9:

:laughing9: Tank, it has happened to all of us. We all got the case bad to a certain degree, but in your case it's super bad, worst case scenario ...I mean to the point of having to buy a building to put everything into. :dontknow: I think you need :help: You are addicted big time. :drunken_smilie: :drunken_smilie: :drunken_smilie:

Hey Tank.

Mate you should be thankfull that your lady told you to get a shed and not to sell the bloody stuff, Lol. and the other thankfull thing is she now has given you permission for your Mans Room, :headbang:

Yep ! A redhead happened to me , too . So I build storage for my stuff that used to live com-
fortably with me and tread lightly in 'her' space .
The benefits of having a redhead far outweigh the problems of finding alternate storage . ;D

Yea, it happened to me a few times

First with the guns, I hear if ya got kids you have to put them in a safe, so I put the kids in the safe

So when I get out of Jail I take up metal detecting.

Then I hear ya got to much stuff you got to get a shed, so I put her in the shed

Man those lawyer fee's are killing me

A little advice....Just don't leave a half inch or so of dirt and rust in "her" kitchen sink. Or you will be joining your gear in the shed.

Yes I know what you mean. I got 5 detectors and in the process of buying another. 2 scoopes. Sluices boxes pans buckets. Wet suit boots gloves. Stuff to dig with and to clean with. I have my own roon in the garage for most of it and a closet for the detectors....Matt

sheesh! We get to move them out to the shed if they leave dirt and rust in the sink and on the counters?? Naaaah, I would miss him too much! lol

Hey Tank, at least you know where your stuff is... Every time I want to go out, blondie has shifted my machines to somewhere different... I have to ask where she has put them.

I hope the door looks and you have a gaurd.

Yes, It happens this way.

We have a lodge of over 5,000 sq. foot that is undergoing a face lift. I had to remove the items I have found/acquired through the years and store it until the multimillion dollar transformation is complete.
It took me 3 hours to remove display tables and all of the relics to a storage shed 200 yards away.

I'm dreading having to set it all back up.

yes....Trout fishing took way less space.

Yep, I guess I'm included.

I bought 3 detectors and other odds and ends in my first year but fortunately all was covered by finds. A few years in I was starting to get set in my ways, but still played a bit buying different units for fun. Now that it's been 10 years I pretty much have all I need and change very little because I've reached my goal, which was the one best everything for me. (best detector, best digger, shovel, probe, etc.etc.)

ALmost there - still at the shelf in the garage stage for now.

There is a good article in the March, 2010 (this month) issue of W&E Treasures on how some fellas use shadow boxes, frames, fish tanks, etc. to display his finds. This guy has a room full of boxes (that he calls displays) to show off his stuff and it fills a room. Kinda like a "man cave."

Yeah I guess it happened to me too.....I have one little corner of the garage.....her area for Christmas decorations is twice as large as my prospecting, and metal detecting supplies storage. Happy wife, happy life!!

lol ya'll are killin me , lol I'm glad I'm not alone here , hell I just moved my equipment all my saved finds are still in the house lol , I will admit tho everytime I have mentioned display cases her eyes have glazed over once or twice , the only display case she has been intrested in is the one for my CW bullets that TNET friends have sent me from different spots they have dug ( by the way if you have a dropped an a shot bullet you'd like to donate I'll take it ).

I have to say I love this Hobby an most all the people I've met so far an TNET is a awsome site with great people , Thanks for everyones reply .you folks are great :icon_thumleft:

I would like to respond, After Three sheds full and two boats, a quad, a 30ft airstream, My lovely little brunette said pick a hobby and get rid of the rest,,,, after negotiating I get to have two hobbies and have been to the swap meet almost every weekend, but I made enough to buy a new LOBO, and Nice birthday stuff for the little brunette, and a couple of nice payments to CC. company.
Once again my can do, can keep up with my want to! Arid.

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Have you ever read Patrick F. McManus???

He used to always have the last page in Outdoor Life (the Last Laugh).

He didn't talk about detectors - but about gun cabinets. He said you always had to buy one with more slots than you had guns. The reason for this was that, when you talked to your spouse about getting another gun, you always had the excuse "but honey, I have slots for 3 more guns, and then it will be full and I will have every one I want." Of course, the idea was, when you get down to just one empty slot, you buy an identical gun cabinet - with 3 or four extra slots - and you keep on collecting. :laughing9: :laughing9: :laughing9:

That's us treasure hunters - whether it is metal detectors, or panning equipment, or dredging stuff, or beach stuff, or extra scoops, pinpointers, screens, etc., there is always room for a little more - and you KNOW we just have to have one more thing.............
