It is pretty strange. Obviously its some sort of religious medallion, token, or "good luck charm". 77 is probably 1977 if I had to venture a guess. I don't think that it was given out from a church or jewish temple, because it has the Christian cross and star of david, but a Church or Temple wouldn't put astrological symbols on it.
Interesting though.

Looks to me like a token for luck. I believe the 7s represent "lucky 7". I have never seen one like this. It's a nice find.

Ack thx ! wow that was weird. I was looking at my piece on a website. that's awesome. I could never find it. I did look right after I got it. I remember looking at good luck tokens but never did find it. thx big time. I always carry it ,since I got it.

Good catch, ack. It is a coin with a bunch of old, disconnected symbolism stamped on it. It looks like a pile of everything that people in Europe would call good luck. The zodiac is backward from the way an astrologer would draw it. Most of the symbols have very little to do with each other. The concept of "luck" seems to be the only thing all the symbols have in common, though it wasn't the original association for most of them.

It's a good luck coin. Probably worth a couple bucks. Doesn't look very old.

Church of the not-so-good luck I'd say since all the luck is running out the bottom of the horseshoe. Shoulda put a lil more thought into that design I think. :tongue1: :laughing7:
