I went out in the cold today and my first hit was this item. it looks to be some kind of button but do not know. thanks for your help.

That looks like Hector the Trojan warrior. This is from "The Big Books of Buttons" Hughes/Lester 1991 printing.

Some of the Blazers (jackets) in the 50's/ 60's had ornate buttons that style. Tony
