Just curious if anyone has any stories about detecting on beaches of another country. I am going to Aruba next month and I've already asked ATA, Aruba travel authority if there are any restrictions regarding the use of detectors on there beaches, and the answer was no restrictions at all.I have also contacted the airlines we are using and they also said no problem. I have been visiting Aruba for almost 20 years and have never seen a metal detector being used there. Have you ever detected there?

i took one of my detectors on a cruise last year and detected a beach in the bahamas.i found local coins along with coins from asia.it is hard to tell what you will find.

I Took a small underwater vibratech to Bonaire last year and use it in the shallow surf. I had no problems .
This year I will be taking along a beach magnet by cobra I have taken it apart to get it packed good and i wll let ya know after we return from Bonaire . We leave for 2 weeks down there and I have never seen anyone else there most people go to just dive or snorkle . Idid find a lot of local coins just below the surface around some beach chairs. I tied a long stick to the vibra probe last year it worked surpirsingly well I could feel the vibrations through the stick handle . It looked pretty strange but hey it worked I found about 25 coins with it most were dutch gilders and some euros. I snorkled in arms length water using the vibra tech but when I found somthing had a hard time holding my position with the small waves moving me and some times would loose what i just found . I do have a short handle scoop but its too large to pack along. So just wish me luck see ya's when we get back at least its warm there.

I took my detector to Antigua a few years ago. Found a lot of British coins, local coins and some older Cuban coins. I think I found more by laying on my beach chair and swishing my hands through the sand, though.

where do you stay at when you go to Aruba?
When I went we stayed at the Bucuti. I didnt have a MD with me but if I did I wouldnt have time to use it on the beach with all the topless women that were there distracting me ;D ;D ;D
